It is during these transitional moments that I rely on escapist behaviors in order to fill in the gaps of comprehension. This tendency is not always the wisest approach. My perspective becomes skewed, and after a while I have a hard time distinguishing fact from fiction. Things that were once clearly distinguishable now dissolve into each other, losing origin. Sofya Mirvis is a mixed media artist living and working in Philadelphia. Her work combines ethereal landscape with elements of surreal collage and a touch of urban aesthetic. Originally from Moscow, Russia, Sofya draws references from Eastern European folklore, Western opulence and the phenomenology of nature.

"In the synthesis of media and subject I create a diverse sensory experience. I want to elevate the sludge of your coffee. I want to deconstruct your elitism"
