Located in Philadelphia, Kitchen Table Gallery functions as both a living space and a gallery. Louise ORourke was inspired to start KTG by an excerpt of David Reed’s in “The Studio Reader: On the Space of Artists.” When David Reed asked Felix Gonzalez-Torres about his art studio he responded by saying, "I do not have a studio space. I am a kitchen-table artist." In that reading, KTG was born. The gallery offers artists the opportunity to explore unique installation boundaries, to experience an informal atmosphere and to participate in viewing experimental and emerging artwork. KTG seeks to offer a constant re-imagining, and recreation of space. Shows are held monthly and KTG welcomes proposals from both local and international artists.
Founder Louise ORourke
Louise ORourke received her MFA in photography from Ohio University. She has shown work in the states and overseas (Slovakia and Romania). She currently resides in Philadelphia in the neighborhood of Fishtown, where she works as an educator at Philadelphia Photo Arts Center, an art documentation photographer and a lifestyle photographer.
